Facts

  • Average of ten interns per year complete their Field Placement at Colorado “I Have A Dream”

  • Over 1500 hours of direct supervision hours provided to Interns since 2020

  • Average number of hours interns spend annually providing clinical services to program and community members

  • University partnerships that provide students to complete their Internship with Colorado “I Have A Dream” Foundation

Colorado Dream Foundation is partnering with graduate school programs in the fields of Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, and other Mental Health areas to serve as a field placement site for 10 -12 graduate students who are seeking experiential opportunities working with youth and families in communities throughout the Denver Metro area.

The Clinical Internship program has two different opportunities

Emotional Wellness - Systems Advocacy
Available to 1st year Master of Social Work Interns

  • Participate in educational opportunities for families and caregivers 

  • Secure resources to address food insecurity, housing, medical needs, etc. 

  • Engage in Emotional Wellness Program development opportunities alongside the Senior Director of Emotional Wellness and other organization leadership team members.

    ** Please note this internship track heavily emphasizes Mezzo and Macro-level social work opportunities.

Clinical Therapeutic Services
Available to 2nd year Master of Social Work Interns & Counseling Graduate Students

  • Manage a caseload from start to finish of clients ages four to adult, providing therapeutic services using holistic methods with a strengths-based perspective and a trauma-informed approach.  

  • Conduct intake interviews and referral connections for clients seeking services.

  • Opportunity to facilitate small therapeutic groups for youth and families within the community and those enrolled in Colorado Dream Foundation’s program

Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Internship Program at Colorado Dream Foundation! Due to an overwhelming number of amazing applicants during the first half of Application Window One, we have opted to pause accepting any more applications during this window. We are starting the interview process, and once that is complete, if we still have additional positions available, we will re-open the window during Application Window Two.
